Internet Advancement (NEW!)

As of January 1, 2013, Internet Advancement is used to grant Tigers, Wolves, and Bears their badge of rank, and to grant Webelos badge of rank and achievement pins.  Belt loops are tracked here as well, but it is not necessary to submit an advancement report to Council for those.  Tiger, Wolf, and Bear beads are not tracked here and do not require an advancement report either.

Here is a complete list of items that you will need to use Internet Advancement for to submit an advancement report to council prior to making your trip to the scout shop to pick up the awards::

  • Bobcat Badge
  • Tiger Badge
  • Wolf Badge
  • Bear Badge
  • Webelos Badge
  • All Webelos Achievement Pins
  • Arrow of Light

Here’s how it works:

  1. Open Internet Explorer and click on this link to enter the Internet Advancement website.  Note that you MUST use Internet Explorer to access the site.
  2. Once there, enter the unit number and password.  You can get this from the Cubmaster or Committee if you don’t have it already.
  3. After you log in, click “Continue” and then “Load Roster”.  It might take a minute to load the roster.
  4. You’ll then be presented with a list of all scouts with a button beside each of them.  Tigers have buttons for “Ranks”, “Awards”, and “Belt Loops”.  Wolves, Bears, and Webelos have buttons for “Ranks”, “Activity Badges”, “Awards”, and “Belt Loops”.  Note that Wolves and Bears don’t earn Activity Badges – not sure why those are listed.
  5. Find the scouts you wish to advance and click on the award type they have earned.
  6. After the next page loads, scroll down the list and find the specific award that they have earned, and enter the date that they earned it.
  7. When you have done this, click “Save” and you’ll be returned to the main Unit Roster screen.
  8. Repeat steps 5-7 for all scouts that are advancing.
  9. When you are done and are back on the main Unit Roster screen, click “Next”.
  10. You can then review the advancement report you are about to submit by clicking on the “Review Advancement Report” link.
  11. When you are sure the report is correct, click on the “Submit to Council” button.
  12. After the report is submitted to council, you can print out a copy of your advancement report.  Get this signed by a unit leader (Cubmaster, Assistant Cubmaster, Den Leader, etc), and take it to the council shop with you to turn in when you buy your rank badges and awards.
