Looking for something to do?

In south west Florida, we are truly blessed to have so many outdoor facilities and camps at our disposal.  If you’re looking to get out for a day or a weekend, or even a week, here’s a guide published by the South West Florida Water Management District that lists all regional parks in the area.  The guide contains maps for each park, stuff to do while you’re there, and at the end  there’s a great at-a-glance summary listing of properties and activities.

The South West Florida Water Management District (abbreviated SWFWMD and commonly called “swift mud”) has also publised a set of field guides for most of the native Florida plant and animal species you’ll encounter at these sites.  They’re really great.  Here’s a listing:

Mammals

Butterflies

Birds

Insects

Frogs & Toads

Reptiles

Trees & Shrubs

Wildflowers
